She is survived by her husband, Russell Timkovich; daughters-in-law, Clare Emily Clifford and Elizabeth Troup Timkovich; sons, Alexander Stephen Timkovich and Nicholas Alan Timkovich; and grandchildren, Zachery Nigel Timkovich and Tess Fenn Clifford Timkovich. Carol spent her early life in Taylor, Michigan, and attended Michigan State University where she first studied fiber and textile arts, received a degree in Design, and met her husband, Russell. They began their married life by moving first to California for Russell’s doctoral work and then to Chicago, eventually making their home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She raised two sons, Alexander and Nicholas, nurturing in them a thirst for learning, a diligent work ethic, and unwavering devotion to their wives, children, and parents. Carol's love for creating fiber and textile arts led her to establish the West Alabama Fiber Arts Guild. She served as the guild President for over thirty years, mentoring and teaching countless students how to knit, spin yarn, weave, and make lace. Carol was renowned for demonstrating these exquisite skills every year at the Kentuck Festival of the Arts. Deeply invested in volunteer work, Carol spent decades involved in two organizations committed to assisting women, children, and families in need: she served as the Alabama State President for the PEO Sisterhood, and she assisted Catholic Social Services at Holy Spirit Catholic Church by helping West Alabamians living in poverty and suffering. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Social Services of West Alabama, 608 James I Harrison Jr Pkwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.
