Catherine Perkins Worthy, age 87, of Fayette, formerly of Kennedy, passed away on December 9, 2017 at Fayette Long Term Care. Services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home of Fayette at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Raymond Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in the Kennedy City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Pearl Porter Barrett; her first husband, Sam Perkins; her second husband, Oliver Worthy; brothers, Olen, Dennis, Howard and Ray Barrett; sisters, Vodine (infant), Eulene Bryant, Emma Parker and Erma Johnson. Survivors include her daughters, Anita Davis (Wayne) of Tuscaloosa and Darlene Perkins (Jim Dance) of Northport; granddaughters, Krisha Deavours (Dan) of Fayette and her father, George Prater of Millport, and Paige Davis of Tuscaloosa; twin great-granddaughters, Aubrey and Lainey Deavours and Chloe Davis; sisters, Jean Thompson and Jane Cannon, both of Fayette; sisters-in-law, Vertis Barrett of Alexander City and Ann Welch of Bay Minette, special friend, Angie Byars Rushing of Haleyville; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Worthy was born July 18, 1930 in Lamar County, Alabama. She attended Kennedy High School. She was a faithful and active member of Trinity Church of God in Fayette. She was a homemaker and retired employee from Westinghouse Electric in Reform, Alabama. She enjoyed spending time working in her flower garden and being with her family. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Larry Barrett, Ronnie Barrett, Wyman Barrett, John Hildreth, John Thompson and Jeff Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Owens and all the caring staff, residents and families at Fayette Long Term Care.
