Charles Linwood McCool, Sr.

Charles Linwood McCool, Sr., age 89 of Seymour, TN, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022. Services will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. David Blakney officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Oak Ridge Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and George McCool; 4 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 grandson. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley T. Blakney McCool; children, Janice McCool, Martha Jordan, Gwendolyn Headrick, Charles L. McCool, Jr. and Eva Mordecai (Jerome); 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He resided in Chicago, IL from June 1964 until September 1998. He then retired to Seymour, TN from 1998 until now. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Mr. McCool was a devoted Christian and served as a deacon since 1964. He was a member at Valley Grove Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. Pallbearers are Cody Grey, Jon Harville, Chad Moore, Heath McGough, Josh McGuire, Stephen Elliott, Ty Yawn, Austin Bousquet and Jason McCool.
