Charles Thacker

Mr. Charles William Thacker, age 83 of Berry, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018. Services will be Monday, October 8, 2018 at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Delton Harrison and Tuscon Stovall officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Thacker and Martie Handley Thacker; and one son-in-law, Rex Kimbrell. He is survived by his wife, Gaynell Thacker; daughter, Glenda Earnest (Kenneth); granddaughter, Stephanie Ledlow (Junior); two brothers, Thurman Thacker (Syble) and David Thacker (Bonnie); two sisters, Lorene Bircheat (Wayne) and Carol Cook (Terry); and great-granddaughter, Courtney Ledlow. He was a wonderful Christian man that loved the Lord and his family. He loved to sing gospel songs. He worked for ST Bunn’s Construction, then retired later from Fayette County Commissioners as a foreman and drove a school bus part time. He loved teaching music and directing the choir at Piney Grove Church. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Earnest, Junior Ledlow, David Thacker, Thurman Thacker, Terry Cook, and Jan Hagashi.
