Christine Dolan Middleton, age 79, of Tuscaloosa AL, passed away on Tuesday December 5, 2023 at DCH of Tuscaloosa with her children by her side. Services for Mrs. Middleton will be on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to service time. There will be an inurnment to follow after the service in the Church Columbarium. Father John Fallon will be officiating the service. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.
She is preceded in death by her husband Michael E. Middleton Sr., her parents George and Bootsie Dolan, her brother George Dolan Jr., and her sister Clara Bailey Dolan, as well as foster son Charles Finley.
She is survived by her son Michael E. Middleton Jr. (Brooke), her daughter Margaret Middleton Reidenbach (Mark), and four grandchildren Liam and Bailey Middleton and Andrew and William Reidenbach. She is also survived by sister in laws Mary Ann Dolan, Anne Middleton, and Sarah Martin(Jim) and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born in Mobile, Alabama in 1944, Christine was raised a devout Catholic. She dedicated her life to service and education. She graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile where she received a degree in Education with an emphasis on English and later a master’s degree in special education from the University of Alabama. She met her husband Mike at Spring Hill and they were inseparable for the next 50 years. She lived in Tuscaloosa where she would raise her family. She was a teacher and a psychometrist for the Tuscaloosa County School System where she positively influenced the lives of many children. Christine relied on her deep faith to guide her through life, always treating others with compassion and empathy. She used her personal experiences to help others in need.
Nothing brought her more joy than becoming a grandmother. She enjoyed having her grandchildren over to play at her house as well as attending their school events. She volunteered at Holy Spirit Catholic School with the Grandparents Club.
She will be truly missed and her legacy will be forever cherished. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and PCA’s who cared for Christine in the hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Arturo Otero, MD. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Holy Spirit Catholic School or a charity of your choice.
