Dawn Barron

December 18, 1967 — May 30, 2021

Dawn Barron, age 53 of Northport, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021. A celebration of a beautiful life will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021, at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 1421 McFarland Blvd. N, Northport, Al 35476. Sharing of memories will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the celebration program will be at 12:00 p.m. noon at the church. If you are coming, dress casually because that is what Dawn would want. When God calls someone home, we usually read “date of birth” DASH “date of death”. The dates are not important, but the DASH is. And Dawn did great things during her DASH period. She was the bright spot on a gloomy day, the rainbow after a thunderstorm, the cheerleader for all her friends, the nurturing mother to her children, the joy in her husband’s life, the loyal and loving sibling to her sister and brothers, the fun aunt to her nieces and nephews, the daughter who vowed to always take care of her mom and dad. Dawn was so proud of her children-Mason, Matt, and Marlee. She enjoyed every success and milestone they accomplished; she hurt when they were hurt; she dreamed of the future when she would be called DD by her grandchildren. Since meeting and later getting married to Gary Barron, Dawn was the happiest she had ever been. No exaggeration—she was glowing. Oh, the fun they had and the plans they made! She loved every minute of being Gary’s wife. Their story is a great one as most of you already know. Dawn had so many dreams and plans including graduating from the University of Alabama on July 31 of this year with a degree in Social Work. Her plan was to “walk” at graduation and experience the realization of her dream. Three classes away from achieving that lifelong dream………. Just ask anyone who knew her about how she gave love to those around her. Dawn was a giver, and she gave BIG. She is famous for her “list making skills” and she lived by her lists. I can see her now in Heaven, going “check”, “got it”, “need more” etc. The events she planned or was part of were simply beautiful……. everything was perfect. There are so many people our family needs to acknowledge who were so close to Dawn, who loved Dawn, who mourn with us. You know that Dawn loved you with her whole being. The medical staff at DCH/Northport, the Paramedics, the DCH Cath Lab team, the Cardiac Intensive Care Nurses at DCH/Tuscaloosa who openly wept with us, Dr. Carraway, the CRNA’s, the other Physicians who all tried everything humanly possible and the ladies who were in the waiting room with us who held us and prayed for us-we will be eternally grateful for your effort. But the thing is that it was not humanly possible, it was heavenly possible. God takes the best. He deserves the best; He has Dawn. A College Fund will be set up for Marlee Aldridge and we ask that if you plan to donate in Dawn’s memory, please donate to this fund. More information will be on social media soon. From the bottom of our broken hearts, we thank you for your prayers. We do believe God is in control and that “Thy Will Be Done”.
