Dorothy Knott

Dorothy Knott, age 72 of Fayette AL, passed away on Monday, January 08, 2024, at DCH of Tuscaloosa. Arrangements for Ms. Knott will be on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel ill be directing the service.

A blessing was bestowed upon Joe Knott and Sallie Mae Mobley-Knott on January 19, 1951, in Sumter County, Alabama.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with friends and family and her partner Richard. Her nurturing spirit created a haven for family and friends where love and laughter flourished. She gave great hugs and had a beautiful smile. She wasn’t shy to let you know what was on her mind. She loved the simpler life of good food, friends, family, and shopping. She was a beacon of strength and faced life’s challenges with grace and resilience. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Knott and mother, Sallie Mae Mobley-Knott; brothers: Norman Wimbley, Joe Knott, Jr., Joseph Charles Knott, Jimmy Lee Knott, and sister, Central Bell Manassa. 

Cherishing her memories are, her sister, Mary Lou Knot-Taylor (Samuel) of Dubuque, Iowa; aunt, Essie Lee Denson; nieces: KaJuana Taylor-Moore, Dunwoody, Georgia, Juanita Shearer, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; nephews; Samuel Taylor III, Minnesota, Michael Taylor, Dubuque, Iowa; Joseph Snyder, David (Denise) Manassa; Greg (Pam) Manassa and Reginald Williams, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
