Ellen Duckworth Smith

Ellen Duckworth Smith, age 60 of Fayette, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Graveside services will be Monday, October 4, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 4, 2021, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerrel Duckworth and Margarette Reese Duckworth; sister, Diane Duckworth; and grandparents, P.C. and Anna Reese and Shirley and Mildred Duckworth. Ms. Smith is survived by her sons, William Jerrel Smith of Caruthers, California and Christopher Gregory Smith of Fayette; brothers, Jerrel Wayne Duckworth (Susan) of Tuscaloosa and Mark Gregory Duckworth of Fayette; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ellen was born in Birmingham and resided in Adamsville until adulthood when she moved to Fayette. She was a graduate of Minor High School in Adamsville. She attended the Adventure Travel’s Agent School in Dallas, TX and spent many years as a travel agent. Ellen was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She had a loving, generous heart and was one who deeply loved her family and friends and was blessed to see that love returned. Presiding at her funeral service are her nephews, Michael Wayne Duckworth of Remlap, AL, Jason Benton Duckworth of Montevallo, AL, Clinton Reese Duckworth of Cullman, AL, and Parker Parrish Duckworth of Tuscaloosa, AL.
