F. Edwin Lawrence

F. Edwin Lawrence, age 96 of Tuscaloosa, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Service will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Skyland Boulevard Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at Fayette City Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Newman Lawrence and Bessie Nell Lawrence; brothers, Howard Lawrence (Betty) and Richard Gaines Lawrence and George Levert Lawrence. He is survived by his daughters, Phyllis Lawrence and Kathy Lawrence Bannon (Mike); son, Dwain Lawrence (Tricia); sisters-in-law, Helen Lawrence and Patsy Lawrence; grandchildren, Caitlin Bannon Olander (Nate) and Colin Bannon; and great-grandchildren, Alison Olander, Emily Olander and Austin Olander; a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Lawrence was born and raised in Fayette, and he attended Fayette County High School. He worked for Alabama Power for over 40 years. Mr. Lawrence also served in the U.S. Navy and is a World War II veteran. He enjoyed fishing, reading, good southern cooking, watching football and singing in the choir at his church. He was an incredible storyteller. Mr. Lawrence was known as Mr. Fix-it and could fix anything that needed repairing. Pallbearers are Luke Lawrence, Russ Lawrence, Russell Lawrence, Larry Hudson and Dwain Lawrence.
