Faye Fleming

Winnie Faye Thomason Fleming, 94, of Northport, AL went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 31, 2023 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Her funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church with visitation from 1:00 p.m until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Grave side will be held at Memory Hill Gardens under the direction of Norwood Wyatt Funeral Home of Fayette AL.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Fleming, Jr., parents Mr. and Mrs. Lon (Kennedy), Averil McCray (Birmingham), Ethel Cagle (Double Springs), Earline Thomason, (Kennedy) and Baby Lovey Lucille.

She is survived by three children, Gloria Ellis, (Tuscaloosa), Tommy Fleming (Linda) Coker Virginia Medders (Joel) Northport. Grandchildren Clint Ellis (Lari), Bay Minette, Jay Ellis (Valerie), Northport, Emily Vanderford (John) Calera. Great grandchildren Hunter Ellis (Tuscaloosa), Levi Ellis (Bay Minnette), JT Vanderford, Carolina Vanderford, Luke Thomason Vanderford all of (Calera) and Olivia Ellis (Northport).

Active pallbearers will be Joel Medders, Cliff Sutton, Jay Ellis, Hunter Ellis, Tommy Porter, Wesley Pierson, Scott Trimm, John Vanderford, Rev. Gean Dockery and Trey Wingo.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors of Lake Sherwood, members of Mount Olive Baptist Church, employees and staff of Morning Point Assisted Living, employees and staff of Hunter Creek, Al Fox, members of South Highlands Baptist Church, Dr. Isabel Oldshoe, Dr. Kevin Thompson, Dr. Anne Scott, Louise Wilson Standifer and family, Londa Bearden, Cleo Lewis and family, Special teams Nurse Staff, and Nurse/doctor staff on 5th floor S.

Mother was a loving wife and brought her children up to love God and serve Him. She loved God’s Word and shared it often. She loved gardening, flowers, sewing, cooking, southern gospel music and made the holidays special in her home for her family.

In lieu of flowers, family requests any donations go to Mt Olive Baptist church, Salvation Army, or Samaritan Purse.
