Gary Wayne Wilson

Gary Wayne Wilson, age 57 of Moundville Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 16th, 2025, at Hospice of West Alabama. Gary was a devoted and loving Husband, Father and Grandfather and will most affectionately be remembered by his wife, children and grandchildren as Paw Paw. Gary was the first born child to the late Jerry Joe Wilson and Glenda Sue Wilson (Elmore) of Eutaw Alabama. He was born January 13th, 1968, at Greene County Hospital, and the mold was definitely not broken. Gary spent his youth being raised in Eutaw and Texas with a large portion of his formative years spent with his Grandfather Pop (Esmal Wilson) who taught him how to hunt and instilled in him the passion of the outdoors, he loved Turkey Hunting, Deer Hunting and Fishing. However, when asked he would tell you his most fond memories were the deer drives with dogs when he and pop hunted at Lock 6. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 35 years; Christy Ilene Wilson (Gibbs) sons; Nicholas(Jenna)& Noah, two Grandsons Logan and Ezra, and one Granddaughter; Shiah Ilyse. As well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that loved him dearly.

The family wishes to extend our deepest appreciation to Hospice of West Alabama Nurses and Staff, Dr Anand Pandey, Dr Charles Abney, and too a few very special friends of Gary’s; Todd McGraw, Owen’s Daniel’s, Phillip Marshall, Dennis Drummond (Leslie), David Adams (Donna) and Reba Pope.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
