Dr. Gerald Gaylon Hovater

Dr. Gerald Gaylon Hovater, age 84, of Sheffield Alabama, passed away on Monday, September 25, at Hellen Keller Hospital. The family will have a private service.

Dr. Hovater is preceded in death by his wife; Dr. Anna Hollingsworth Hovater.

He is survived by his son; James Allen Hovater (Lisa) of Sheffield Alabama, and sister; Linda Underwood of Spruce Pine, Alabama.

Dr. Gerald Hovater was a U.S. Army veteran and former Professor of Education. He was born in Russellville, Alabama, and attended Florence State, where he met and later married his wife, Anna.
