Homer Russ Teeter, age 69 of Bankston, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Russ always wanted a burial at sea, therefore in lieu of a funeral, we will have a Memorial/Celebration of Life at Bungalow’s in Fayette, Saturday January 29th at 2pm. All family and friends are welcome to attend. Russ was born in Missouri on July, 17th 1952. He is survived by his wife, Patty; sons, Russell (Tracy), Erik (Leslie), Christopher; daughter, Kelly (George) and their children and grandchildren; daughter, Hillary (Kip); grandchildren, Zachary (Arthur), Alex (Annabeth), Nicolas, Morgan, Allison, Dylan, Jacob, Chloe, and Marley; and great-grandson Ian. He is preceded in death by daughter Christina; Parents Oda and Luther; siblings Norman, Maudie, and Barbara. Russ met and married his wife Patty as a teenager and started his career in the US Navy. He never met a stranger and made the BEST smoked ribs ever, just ask anybody. He was a proud man with a heart of gold. A noble, strong-willed family man, his sense of humor was bold, but always playful. He was a loving father: he could be firm, but always understanding. A patriot who loved his country, he was proud of his service in the Navy- and even more proud of his family, and the name they share.
