She attended Lamar County High School, graduating in 1972. After graduation she attended the University of Alabama for several years before taking a job in Huntsville and then Atlanta. Later she returned to the Birmingham area where she worked for Lamar Advertising for many years and made many great friends while doing so.
Jackie enjoyed traveling with family and friends, visiting many states and countries. She was always smiling and joking around and had an infectious laugh that you couldn’t resist. She loved the mountains and spent many weekends camping and rafting in the Smokies and Blue Ridge Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina. An excellent cook, she was always on the lookout for new recipes to try and everyone looked forward to testing them out for her.
She was a lifelong lover of animals, especially her cats all of which she rescued and spoiled rotten. Although she had no children of her own, she loved her niece and nephews greatly and enjoyed spoiling them and spending time with them as often as she could. She had a love of games, and she enjoyed learning new games to play with them whenever they visited. She particularly enjoyed card games and got together frequently with close friends to play some of her favorite ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Francis Bell. She is survived by brothers Ken Bell (Allison), Albert Bell (Jane), Byron Bell, nephews Josh Bell, Ben Bell (Sara), Logan Bell (Erica), niece Jessica Poor (Ryan), and four great-nephews and two great-nieces as well as many well-loved friends.
