James Headrick, age 85 of Northport, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tuscaloosa with Monsignor Michael Deering officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at a later date at the Holy Spirit Columbarium. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester A Headrick; his mother, Anne Lee Headrick; brother, Ted W. Headrick; sister, Jacqueline Headrick; and son, Michael J. Headrick. Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Beatrice Patricia “Pat” Headrick of Northport; son, Bruce Headrick (Lisa) of Millbrook, AL; four grandchildren, Amy Headrick Millbrook, Stephan Headrick (Sarasota), Katherine “Katie” Headrick of Millbrook; and Patrick Headrick of Sarasota; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Ruth and Silvia Nolen both of Millbrook. Jim was born in Cave Springs, GA on October 17, 1935. Jim was a graduate from the class of 1954 at Suttle High School. He attended Multinomah College in Portland OR and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He felt truly blessed with his vocations. They included working on Avionics in the Air Force (F-4s), at Hayes/Boeing International in Huntsville and the Saturn 5 Rockets, the Federal Aviation Administration the Tuscaloosa Airport in Brookwood, and the Outer Marker (Navigation and Landing Aids). In addition, Jim loved to fish and play his guitar. He learned to play the piano later in life, loved to garden, and of course watching Alabama Football. Jim was also a Knight of Columbus.
