Jerry Wayne Townsend

Jerry Wayne Townsend, age 75 of Greensboro, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022. Services will be announced later. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Cromer Townsend; parents, Frank and Effie Townsend; and brothers, Howard Townsend and Glenn Townsend. He is survived by his daughters, Sherry Lyn Beck (James) and Pamela Joyce Townsend (Chad Christian); son, Terry Wayne Townsend (Kim Brown); sister, Judy Montgomery (Gene); brother, Larry Townsend (Nery); grandchildren, Dustin Swindle (Kimberly), Kali Knight (Lucas), Lorin Elkins (Tanner), Logan McClendon (Abbey), Ashlynn Townsend-Christian, Terrilynn Townsend, Justin Townsend (Erika), Hunter Townsend (Sissy), Nathan Townsend, Garrett Townsend, and Brylan Townsend; and great-grandchildren, Kayden Townsend, Adalynn Townsend, Chloe Townsend, Tallen Elkins, Tayson Elkins, Jordan Swindle and Lilly Knight. Mr. Townsend was born and raised in Moundville, Alabama. He retired from R.L. Zeigler Company and Southern Pride Catfish. He was a longtime resident of Greensboro, Alabama.
