John Henry Files, age 83 of Berry, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021. Services will be Sunday, August 29, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Pea Ridge Community Church with Bro. Gary Lovette officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Mr. Files was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Clara Bell Files; two great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Files. He is survived by his wife, Mavis Files; son, John Edward files (Gwen) and Larry Henry Files; sister, Agnes Louise Lollar; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, Autumn Rose, or better known as Sissy. Mr. Files loved his family and was the backbone to the family. He worked for Drummond Coal and logged to provide for his wife and family. Gardening was just one of his hobbies, he enjoyed dealing with anything outside. He loved his church family and served as a deacon. He loved nothing more than sitting and talking about the past with his grandkids and great-grandkids. Mr. Files was a devoted husband of sixty-seven years. Pallbearers are Dion Cousette, Justin Files, Deshaun Files, Jeremy Gurganus, and Johnathan Files. Honorary pallbearers are his great-grandsons and great-great granddaughter.
