 Johnie Frank Reade, aged 72, passed away on October 15, 2024, in Fayette, AL. Born on May 25, 1952, Johnie was known for his light-hearted, caring nature and a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. His humor and love for his family were the hallmarks of his character Johnie is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Patricia L. Reade, his children, Mark B. Reade and Melissa L. Reade, stepchildren Angie Mayall and Don L. Weaver, brother Mickey Reade, sister Sandra Robertson, as well as 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 nephews, and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Justine Reade, sister Sharon Smith, daughter Crystal Forbes, and grandson Mark Christopher Reade.

Johnie proudly served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1971. After his military service he dedicated many years to the Escambia County Road Department before retiring. He was an active member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL,  and later at First Baptist Church in Fayette, AL.

An avid fisherman, Johnie also devoted much of his time to church activities, engaging deeply with his community and faith. His educational journey included his time at Escambia High School in Pensacola, FL.

A viewing will be held at Norwood-Wyatt Funeral Home in Fayette, AL, on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 2:30 PM. A graveside service is scheduled at Barrancas National Cemetery on Pensacola Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL, on Monday, October 28 2024 at 2 PM. Attendees for the graveside service are requested to meet at Olive Baptist Church-Warrington Campus between 1 PM and 1:30 PM for escort to the National Cemetery.

Johnie's life was a testament to his faith, humor, and unwavering commitment to his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
