Linda Howton, age 67 of Fayette passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019. Services will be Monday, May 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Encounter First Assembly of God with Rev. Darryl Ballew officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stevie J. Howton; parents, Willie D. and Celia Smith Wright; brothers, James E. Wright and Jimmy D. Wright. Mrs. Howton is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Howton Smith and Meredith Howton Cash; son, Bill Maddox and his father, Henry Keith; brothers, Dan Wright and Rickey Wright; sister, Kathy W. Carroll; grandchildren, Austin Gunter Cash, Steven Jordan Cash, and Dalton Ray Cash. Linda was a faithful member at Fayette First Assembly of God since 1965. She was the Sunday School Secretary, a Sunday school teacher, and she was a Missionette leader. Linda was a Girl Scout leader for troop 140. She loved to travel as well. Linda graduated from Fayette County High School in 1969 and graduated college with two Associates degrees. She worked at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) and retired from DCH. Honorary pallbearers are Dan Wright, Rickey Wright, Bill Maddox, Ray Cash, Austin Cash, Jordan Cash, Dalton Cash, Andrew Smith, and Travis Wright, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the funeral home towards final expenses.
