Macon H. Madison, age 86 of Fayette, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Fayette Medical Center. Services will be Monday, September 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel with Dr. Steve Strange and Dr. Scott Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Fayette Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Villa Madison; brother, Nathan Madison; sisters, Nocal Boyd Battle and Norma Nix; and son-in-law, David Clifton. Survivors include his wife, Frances Madison; daughter, Paula Clifton; son, Keith Madison (Regina); sister, Nobel Yeager; brother, Lynn Madison (Ellen); sister-in-law, Betty Madison; grandsons, Gibson Madison and Madison Clifton; and several nieces and nephews. Macon Hugh Madison was born in Fayette, Alabama on July 3, 1931. After being drafted and serving four years in the army he returned to school to receive his high school diploma from Fayette County High School in 1950. After high school he joined the Alabama Army National Guard where he became a Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CWO2) and served in that capacity for 20 years before retiring. Macon enjoyed the outdoors with fishing being one of his favorite hobbies. Playing and spending time with his grandchildren was one of his greatest pleasures. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Fayette First United Methodist Church and was a member of the VFW. Macon was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. Pallbearers will be Al Rhea, Bryan Rhea, Michael Madison, Jesse Seaborn, Kevin Rhudy, and Jerry Eason. Honorary pallbearers are the Class of 1950, Dr. Martha Jo Christian, Morningview Estates, the nurses and staff of Fayette Medical Center, and Company C 131st Tank Battalion Alabama Army National Guard.
