Maria Duarte

María Duarte was born on October 24, 1947 in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Daughter of Mary and Santiago. She was the second of 14 siblings. She had to leave dolls and school to help her mother with her siblings as a child. When she was young she started working to help with his household expenses because the family couldn't afford it. She was a single mother of Cesar Alejandro until she met the love of her life Ever Duarte with whom she married and had four children: Neitheva, Ever, Raphael, and Jair. She liked belonging to the San Rafael Arcángel church, which she took part in for several years and that is how she brought her children closer to God. She was a housewife most of her life, spending almost all of her time with her loving children. She loved to prepare food for them and almost always made them their favorite dishes. She was part of the FAMENAL marriage group and helped in the evangelization of several marriages. She immigrated to Tuscaloosa Alabama when her children grew up. A difficult process because she left her church San Rafael Arcángel and her ministry. She decided to listen to the light of the Holy Spirit and thus she was close to her husband. Over the years she cared for her grandchildren until she could no longer do so. She was always a woman respected and loved by those around her. María liked to pray the rosary daily in the afternoons, her children called her to always ask for her prayer.

Now in the arms of God, we will continue asking our mother María Rafaela to continue interceding for each of us, her children, family, and friends. Thank you Mom for all your care, prayers, sacrifices, and advice. You will always live in our hearts.

Maria Rafaela is survived by her devoted children: Neitheva Duarte and her husband Cliff, Ever Duarte and his wife Carla, Raphael Jair and his wife Brenda, Jair Duarte and his wife Angelica. Her legacy extends through her adoring grandchildren: Ever Jr, Everlyn, Silvia, Angela, Sherlyn, Raphael Jr, Annabella, Camila, Sebastian, and Jair Jr. Maria is also survived by her siblings and Cristina Mireles and husband Moreno, RosaElva Mireles and husband Benjamín, Norma Mireles and husband Jesus, Juan Mireles, and wife Antonia, nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents Maria and Santiago, and her siblings, Rosalinda, Sergio, Santiago, Andrés, and Francisco. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 02, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 733 James I Harrison Jr Pkwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service. 

Maria Duarte, nació el 24 de octubre de 1947 en la ciudad de Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. Hija de María y Santiago. Ella era la segunda de 14 hermanos. De pequeña tuvo que dejar las muñecas y la escuela para ayudar a su mamá con sus hermanos. De joven comenzó a trabajar para ayudar con los gastos de su casa porque no alcanzaba. Fué madre soltera de Cesar Alejandro, hasta que conoció al amor de su vida Ever Duarte con quien se casó y tuvieron cuatro hijos: Neitheva, Ever, Raphael y Jair. Le gustaba mucho pertenecer a la iglesia San Rafael Arcangel de la cual tomó parte durante varios años y así acercó a sus hijos a Dios. Fué ama de casa la mayor parte de su vida, pasando casi todo el tiempo con sus hijos. Le encantaba prepararles de comer y casi siempre les hacía sus platillos favoritos. Formó parte del grupo de matrimonios FAMENAL y ayudó en la evangelización de varios matrimonios. Emigró a Tuscaloosa Alabama cuando crecieron sus hijos. Un proceso difícil porque dejó su iglesia San Rafael Arcangel y su ministerio. Desición que tomó escuchando la luz del Espiritu Santo y así estaba cerca de su esposo. Con los años cuidó de sus nietos hasta que ya no pudo realizarlo. Siempre fué una mujer respetada y amada por los que la rodeaban. A María le gustaba rezar el rosario diriamenete por las tardes, sus hijos la llamabamos para pedir siempre su oración.

Ahora en los brazos de Dios, seguiremos pidiendo a nuestra madre María Rafaela siga intercediendo por cada unos de nosostros sus hijos, familia y amigos. Gracias mamita por todos tus cuidados, oraciones, sacrificios y consejos. Siempre viviras en nuestros corazones. 

A María Rafaela le sobreviven sus devotos hijos: Neitheva Duarte y su esposo Cliff, Ever Duarte y su esposa Carla, Raphael y su esposa Brenda, Jair Duarte y su esposa Angélica. Su legado se extiende a través de sus adorados nietos: Ever Jr, Everlyn, Silvia, Angela, Sherlyn, Raphael Jr, Annabella, Camila, Sebastian y Jair Jr. A María también le sobreviven sus hermanos, Cristina Mireles y su esposo Moreno, Rosaelva Mireles y su esposo. Benjamín, Norma Mireles y esposo Jesús, Juan Mireles y esposa Antonia, sobrinas, sobrinos y familiares extendidos. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres María y Santiago, y sus hermanos Rosalinda, Sergio, Santiago, Andrés, Francisco y José Luis. 

Se llevará a cabo una misa de funeral el martes 2 de julio de 2024 a las 10:00 a. m. en la Iglesia Católica del Espíritu Santo, 733 James I Harrison Jr Pkwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405. La Capilla Norwood-Wyatt dirigirá el servicio.
