Wayne Jones

Martin Wayne Jones, age 73 of Tuscaloosa AL, passed away on October 23, 2023, at DCH Tuscaloosa.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Pineview Memory Gardens, 5171 Alabama Hwy 22, Valley Grande, AL 36701. A celebration of life will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Valley Grande Mexican Grill, 5518 Alabama Hwy 22 N, Valley Grande, AL 36701. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.

Wayne, as he was known to family and friends, was born on August 16, 1950. He graduated from A.G. Parrish High School in 1969. Wayne served in the US Army’s 1st Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. After his service, Wayne attended Auburn University and eventually graduated from Kennesaw State University. Wayne was an Auburn man. Wayne worked in many industries throughout his lifetime. He was a car salesman during his time in Auburn. He ran his own wallpapering business in the Atlanta area. After completing his degree, he worked for IBM, UPS, and Focus on Senior Citizens. Wayne’s hobbies over the years included photography, sailing, and croquette. Wayne was also an accomplished mustache and beardsman in his lifetime.

Wayne loved his family deeply. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Jones Jr. and Aline Jones Ivie, his brother, Marvin Lee Jones, and his niece, Dawn Jones Barron. Wayne is survived by his daughter, Jaimelyn Marie Jones, his sister, Shirley Jones Teefel (Jack), nephews Gary Hull, Drake Jones (Michelle), and Dru Jones and niece Nicole Graham.

Honorary Pall Bearers will be Jon Jones, Lew Jones, Gary Hull, Drake Jones, Dru Jones, & Spencer Jones.

The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Health Care & Rehab of Tuscaloosa for their years of service to Wayne and the nursing staff of DCH 6 North for their humane care for Wayne during his final hours.
