Mary Charlotte Maddox Brashier, age 70 of Fayette, passed away November 5, 2021 at her home. Visitation will be Sunday November 7, 2021 from 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. Funeral Services will be Monday November 8, 2021 at the Funeral Home at 11:00a.m. with Rev. Thomas Clay officiating. A graveside service will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Body will lie in state from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. Mary Charlotte Maddox Brashier was born December 7, 1950 in Fayette County. Her parents were William Terry and Mary Lee Maddox. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Garry Brashier. She has six children; April Sanford (Andy), Jo Pennington (Robert), Duane Hammack (Keegan Simmons), Timothy “TK” Kimbrell (Angie), Jason Goree, and Nick Brashier (Tammy). She has ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She attended Fayette High School and attended Trinity Church of God while being very active in her church and community. Her passion was baking. She first started at the Cake Castle along with her aunt, Nell Harkins, and stayed there for several years. She also baked cakes for several delis over the years. Later, she decided to open up her own business in downtown Fayette. After that, she moved her business to the Fayette Shopping Center, formally known as “Mama’s Bakery”. She was so caring for her family and friends, she loved helping them out with whatever they needed. She also loved playing piano and singing. She also loved coloring and watching old western shows. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community. Pallbearers will be Clint Madison, Van Watkins, Robert Pennington, Keegan Simmons, Shane Humber, and Alan Thomas.
