Mary Parrish

Mary Elizabeth Stewart Parrish was born in Fayette, Alabama on August 7, 1936, to Bruce Barnes Stewart, Sr. and Willielary Shute Stewart.  She passed from this life on December 16, 2023, at the age of 87 years.  She graduated from Fayette High School in 1954, and attended David Lipscomb College until she met her husband of nearly 62 years in Washington, DC, in the summer of 1956.  Norman Wesley Parrish and Mary Stewart were married in November 1956.  Her husband, parents, and brother Bruce Barnes Stewart, Jr. preceded her.  Mary Parrish is survived by her daughters Mary Ann Parrish Oler and Elizabeth Ann Parrish Ray, her son-in-law Jonathan Ray, her granddaughters Elizabeth Stewart Martin Ray and Mary Farrar Rawle Ray Walker, and grandson-in-law Brandon Walker.

Mary Parrish graduated from The University of Alabama in 1966 and 1982.  She taught multiple elementary grades in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.  She was a devoted minister's wife for over 50 years, a loving mother, and an active member at Central Church of Christ in Tuscaloosa, Alabama from 2013 until her death.  She enjoyed traveling, reading, her relatives and friends, and all church activities.
