Michael Harold Krueger Sr., 80, died peacefully on December 6th, 2023, at Northport Medical Center, in Northport, AL with his beloved wife Sandra at his side. Services will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 731 James I Harrison Pkwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405, on Saturday, December 9th, 2023. Visitation is at 10:00. Mass will begin at 11:00 and a reception will follow in the Parish Hall at Noon.
Mike, as he was known to friends and family, was born on September 27th, 1943, in Niagara Falls, NY. He graduated from Newfane High School’s class of 1961. After high school Mike joined the US Air Force and served as an Electronic Countermeasures Operator on B-52’s. Mike married the love of his life, Sandra Mae Cascia, and they raised four children, Michelle, Michael Jr., Stephen and Frank in Lockport, NY. Mike worked as electrician throughout his life working for Linde, Brompton Heights Retirement Facility, Harrison Radiator and retired from Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems. Mike served his Lockport community by coaching the Lockport High School Club Hockey team. His interests included restoring electronics and any new computer technology. Mike was active in the West Alabama Amateur Radio Club and Holy Spirit’s Knights of Columbus. Mike was also a founding member of the KCHS Club, perhaps one of his greatest accomplishments. Mike will be greatly missed by that group of misfits and ne'er-do-wells.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Ednadeene Krueger and his sister Gail Ann Krueger. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Sandra Mae Krueger, his brother, Rick Krueger (Eileen) daughter, Michelle (Drake) Jones, sons, Michael (Julie) Krueger Jr., Stephen (Michelle) Krueger and Frank Krueger. Grandchildren Spencer Jones and Samantha Jones and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Honorary pall bearers will be the Holy Spirit Catholic Church Knights of Columbus. The family would like to thank Dr. Narkhede, RN Holly Garner, Coordinator Chris Crawford & staff at the Hematology Oncology at the Kirkland Clinic of UAB Hospital for their years of care and research with Mike. Thanks also to the staff of Northport Medical Center ICU unit for their care and compassion.
