Mike Sexton

Mike Sexton, age 59, of Fayette, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018. The service will be Monday, May 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Long officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fayette Memorial Gardens.   He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Sexton; step-father, Larry McConnell; and grandson, Hunter McDonald. He leaves behind his mother, Aileene McConnell of Fayette; his wife, Janet Watson Sexton of Fayette; daughter, Katie McDonald (Matt) of Fayette; two grandchildren, Sydney and TJ and a host of other family and friends. Mike was a member of First Baptist Church.  He was well respected and well loved by family and friends.  He was an avid artist, painting beautiful scenery was his favorite hobby.  He took every opportunity to hunt whitetail deer, and many weekends were spent playing bluegrass music.  But what he enjoyed most of all was his adventures with his buddies, Sydney and TJ. Mike spent fifteen years in the construction business, building many homes and remodeling other community projects.  Before going into the construction business Mike worked in jewelry repair and design for twenty-seven years. Pallbearers will be Luke Pennington, Joe Smith, Ricky Sexton, Greg Galloway, Paul May and Ben Bell. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Glasgow, J.J. Holsonback, Dave Lacy, Hunter Voegele, and Jerry O’Dell.
