Nina Whitson

Nina Ree Whitson, age 87 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Ridgeview Nursing Home. Services will be Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Berry A.M.E. Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Wallace officiating. Visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2017 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Nina was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Rosie Whitson; brothers, James F. Whitson, Nathaniel “Pudd” Whitson, Charles Whitson and Phelon Whitson. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Nina joined Berry A.M.E. Chapel and was the church’s secretary. She also worked faithfully at the Fayette Medical Center in the dietary center until she retired later. She loved baking and embroidering. Honorary pallbearer is the Ridgeview Nursing home.
