Olive Rose, age 93 was born August 21, 1926 in Fayette, AL to the late George C. Hamm and the late Gertrude Whitson. She went home peacefully to be with the Lord on March 10, 2020 at Fayette Medical Center. Services will be Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Bankhead Cemetery. She attended Fayette County Training School. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing, gardening and preserving canned goods. She also enjoyed being a servant to the Lord, working diligently in her church. Olive was united in holy matrimony to Joe Thomas Savage for 39 years until his homegoing. She was later married to Rev. Roosevelt Williams for 25 years until his homegoing. Olive was employed by Marshall Durbin and Georgia-Pacific for many years. She attended Peaceful Rest Baptist Church and later became a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church for over sixty years. She is preceded in death by her father, George C. Hamm (Budd), mother, Gertrude Whitson Hamm; husbands, Joe Thomas Savage and Rev. Roosevelt Williams, two daughters: Betty Ann Rupert and Jo Carol Williams; four sisters: Eardell, Catherine, Levonia and Georgia; two uncles, two aunts, and one granddaughter, Olivia Williams. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons: Authur Lee Savage, Lawrence David Savage (Jimmie Nell); son-in-law, Johnny Williams; step-daughter, Debra Williams; grandchildren: Donna (Ronald), Jackie (Ronnie), Earlie (Karen), Terry (Sue), Aline, Timothy, Chris, Johnny, Jr., Mark, Lashawn (Monique), Jovon, Deyon and Sarah; 25 great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren, six great great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
