Ollie McClinton, age 75 of Fayette, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022. Services will be Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Bankhead Cemetery. Sis. Ollie Mae Wilson McClinton, also known as “Miss Ollie”, was born on October 26, 1947 in Berry, AL to the late Moses Wilson and Ella Mae Wilson. She departed this life on February 14, 2022 at her residence. Ollie attended school in Berry, AL and later moved to Fayette, AL where she graduated from West Highland High School. Ollie became a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at an early age after moving to Fayette, AL. She became a member of Peaceful Rest Baptist Church and played the piano there. Later in life, she became a member of First Baptist Church, where she also was the piano player during church services. In 1986, Ollie became the wife of Edward McClinton. She was employed at Robbie’s Clothing Store in Fayette, AL and she was later employed at Arvin Automotive. After leaving Arvin, she was employed at The Glove Plant in Fayette, AL where she retired and received a Certificate of Recognition for 20 years of continuous service. Sis. Ollie loved playing the piano and singing. She also was a big time Auburn Fan and had a great love of collecting owls. She has owls throughout her home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward McClinton; her mother, Ella Mae Wilson; father, Moses Wilson; and brother, Lonnie James “L. J.” Wilson. Ollie is survived by her brother, Charlie A. Wilson (Martha); sisters-in-law: Nina H. Wilson, and Willie Rose McClinton; two stepdaughters: Pamela McClinton and Debra Dixon, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. Also, a special cousin and friend, Mrs. Billie Jo Nalls.
