Robert Vowell

Robert E. Vowell, age 84, of Winfield, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. Services will be Friday, July 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mattie Vowell; brothers, Lamar Vowell, Sherman Vowell and L.V. Vowell; sister, Margrett Hendly; niece, Denise Rowell; and the mother of his children, Josephine Vowell. Robert is survived by his wife, Leola V. Vowell; sons, Ricky Vowell and Lloyd Vowell; sister-in-law, Nancy Vowell; brothers-in-law and family, Johnny Porter (Mary Lou), Jessie Porter (Glennette), William Earl (Millie Porter), Billy W. Porter (Angela), Travis Satterfield (Nancy) and Warren Satterfield (Nickie); sisters-in-law, Frankie Gann, Elaine McKinley (Marvin) and Betty Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert served in the U.S. Navy for twenty-one years. He served in the Korean and Vietnam war. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Ernie Gann, Danny Simmons, Tony Porter, Jerry Porter, Toby Porter and Earl Pine.
