Shirley McCool

Shirley McCool, age 84 of Seymour, TN passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Services will be Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Elmore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charles L. McCool, Sr.; parents, Jim Blakney and Ruby Green; four brothers; four sisters; and one grandson. She is survived by her brother, Wyman Blakney (Rosemary); children, Janice McCool, Martha Jordan, Gwendolyn Headrick, Charles L. McCool, Jr. and Eva Mordecai (Jerome); 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Mrs. McCool lived in Chicago, IL from June 1964 until September 1998 where she retired to Seymour from 1998 until now. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devoted Christian and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a member at Valley Grove Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. Pallbearers are Cody Grey, Jon Harville, Chad Moore, Heath McGough, Josh McGuire, Stephen Elliott, Ty Yawn, Austin Bousquet, Jason McCool, Paul Knight and Brandon Turner.
