Suzette Griffith

Suzette M. Griffith (Fraser), age 67, passed away on December 4, 2023, at DCH Northport.  She was born January 9, 1956, In Wichita, Kansas.  She spent most of her childhood in South Milwaukee Wisconsin and then moved to Naperville Illinois.  She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Illinois Benedictine College. Services for Mrs. Griffith will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Father Michael Deering will be officiating the service. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.

In 1977, Suzette met Mark Griffith who became her husband in 1979.

Suzette and Mark moved to Alabama in 1989 where Suzette became Managing Editor of the University of Alabama Press and retired after 17 years at the Press.

Suzette loved her family, Church, her gardening, and Mark.  She suffered from cancer and had two bone marrow transplants but still had a remarkable spirit and love for people.

Suzette was preceded in death by her mother Helen Fraser.  

She is survived by her husband Mark F. Griffith.  Her father David Fraser (Naperville, IL.)   Her Sister Christine Patterson (Naperville, IL.)  Her brothers: Steven Fraser (Orem, Ut), Richard Fraser (Bartlett, IL.), and James Fraser (Boulder, CO.)
