Thomas Fenton Stamps, age 89, of Ralph, passed away December 29, 2018 at home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Grant’s Creek Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Don Springer and Bro. Jim Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Lavender Stamps; parents, Tollie and Annie Laura Stamps; brother, Charles Stamps; and son-in-law, Sammie Massey. Survivors include his daughters, Sandra Stamps Poole (David) and Barbara Stamps Massey; grandchildren, Calvin Laing Poole and Curtis Brent Poole (Amanda); and great-grandchildren, Brandon Leonard, Jacob Leonard, and Chloe Poole. Mr. Stamps served in the Army during the Korean War Era. He was an active member of Grant’s Creek Baptist Church. He was a charter member of the Fosters/Ralph Volunteer Fire Department. He worked with the Tuscaloosa County Baptist Disaster Relief Team. Pallbearers will be nephews, Glenn Stamps, Monty Stamps, Lance Stamps, Keith Stamps, Phillip Mitchum and Scott Mitchum; grandsons, Calvin Poole and Curtis Poole; great-grandsons, Brandon Leonard and Jacob Leonard. Honorary pallbearers are friends of Fosters and Ralph communities and Paradise Point at the Alabama River. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Gideons International, Grant’s Creek Baptist Church or the Fosters/Ralph Volunteer Fire Department.
