William Roberts, age 77 of Fayette, passed away May 18, 2022. There will be a graveside service Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Winfield City Cemetery with Bro. Cody Roberts officiating. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Roberts and Barbara Wates Roberts McDonald. He is survived by his wife, Norene Roberts; son, Darren Roberts (Beth) of Winfield, AL; grandson, Cody Roberts (Becky) of New Orleans, LA; step-daughters, Yvonne Rainey and Yvette Nichols, and between them, they have 4 daughters and 5 grand-daughters; brothers, Hayes McDonald (Margie) and Mark McDonald (Rhonda) both of Winfield; and a host of nieces and nephews. Bill Roberts was born in Winfield and graduated from Winfield City High School in 1963. He is remembered by those who knew him best for his tyle and ability to play the drums. After graduation he moved to the Gulf Coast area to attend Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and pursue music aspirations where he made many friends and relationships in the music industry. He moved to Hubbertville in 1990 after a brief residence in Murfreesboro, TN working as an electrician. He worked for many years as an electrician and was a service technician for Alabama Power. Bill had a passion for music. He loved playing the drums and played every chance he got. He also enjoyed fishing on the lake at his home. He was a big Nascar and University of Alabama football fan and rarely missed a race or game on TV.
