Willie Travis Lewis, age 69, of Northport passed away February 22, 2020. Services will be Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Tuscaloosa First Assembly of God at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bob McDonald and Rev. Charles Lenn officiating and Norwood-Wyatt Chapel directing. Interment will follow at Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents; V.B. Lewis and Inez Stewart Lewis; and brother, Aylette B. (Pete) Lewis. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Junkin Lewis; sons Chad Beasley and Jeremy Beasley; sisters, Era White Hubbard and Debra Lewis Cook; brothers, Van Buren (Squeaky) Lewis; and grandchildren, Jamie Beasley, Carley Beasley, Parker Beasley, Halle Beasley, Christian Beasley and Dakota Beasley. Willie was born February 17, 1951. He graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1970. He worked for the Alabama Department of Mental Health from 1970 until 1996. After retiring from Bryce Hospital in 1996 Willie worked as a funeral director until 2012. Pallbearers will be Chad Beasley, Parker Beasley, Chuck Gerdau, Jason Wyatt and Scott Trimm. Honorary pallbearers are Tuscaloosa County High School Class of 1970. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Willie T. Lewis.
