Wyman Blakney

Wyman Blakney, age 84 of Fayette, passed away at Winfield Medical Center November 27, 2022. Funeral services for Mr. Blakney will be Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Norwood Wyatt Chapel. Mr. Blakney will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fayette Memorial Gardens. Wyman Blakney was born November 21, 1938 in Fayette, AL to Jim and Ruby Lee Blakney. Mr. Blakney was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Arthur Blakney, Junior Blakney, Johnny Blakney, Winston Blakney; sisters, Audey Blakney, Claudie Hilyer, Charlene Keith, Shirley McCool, Virginia Eglinton and special nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Blakney; daughter, Margaret Ellen Stines; son, James Wyman Blakney; grandchildren, Susan Sparks (Brian), Amy Blakney, Candy Mullenix (Mike), Rachel Fairchild (Chris), Bryan Matthew Stines; and 7 great-grandchildren. He served in the Army and National guard for many years. He worked at Weyerhaeuser in Millport, AL for 32 years until his retirement. Wyman enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and many friends. He loved Alabama football games and racing dirt track and Nascar when he was able to go. He will be dearly missed by all that loved him.
