David J. Denmark

Mr. David James Denmark, age 53 of Vestavia Hills, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Brookwood Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. David was born March 28, 1957 in Rome Ga. He grew up in Decatur, AL and graduated from Decatur High School. He attended the University of Alabama where he earned a Bachelor Degree and was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a member of the Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. David had a life -long love of sports and spent most of his adult life volunteering as a youth baseball and basketball coach. The gift of his time, passion and knowledge has helped to mold the lives of many young athletes in Vestavia Hills. Survivors include his children, Alley Nichole Denmark of Arlington, VA; Michael James Denmark of Huntsville, AL and Ryan David Denmark of Vestavia Hills, AL; his parents, James Bale Denmark and Emma Lee Denmark of Windsor Co. and his sister, Rebecca Denmark Romanowski of Johnstown Co. Norwood Chapel of Fayette directing.
